The Monotone Symphony (formally The Monotone-Silence Symphony) is musical composition by Yves Klein, conceived around 1947–48. It is a 40-minute orchestral piece that consists of a single 20-minute sustained chord (followed by a 20-minute silence).
It was performed on the opening night of the Iris Clert Gallery.
The symphony was also played at the Anthropométries de l'époque bleue in 1960.
