THINKFilm, founded in 2001 by four former Lionsgate Films executives, is an independent film distribution company. Having handled acclaimed documentaries such as Born Into Brothels and The Story of the Weeping Camel, ThinkFilm enjoyed success with The Aristocrats. THINKFilm is also distributing the film Strangers with Candy and will be releasing the controversial film Shortbus in Canada. The company was also behind the concert DVD for the New York City group the Beastie Boys entitled Awesome! I... shot that! released in July of 2006.

On October 24, 2006, the company announced that it had been sold to TimeWarner and David Bergstein, owner of British film producer Capitol Films.
