The Three marks of existence, within Buddhism, are three characteristics (Pali: tilakkhaTemplate:IASTa; Sanskrit: trilakTemplate:IASTaTemplate:IASTa) shared by all sentient beings, namely: impermanence (anicca); suffering or unsatisfactoriness (dukkha); non-self (anattā).
