Copyright questions regarding a photo of Duchamp's Fountain[1]:
There is currently one photograph[2] at Wikimedia Commons of Duchamp's Fountain listed as public domain. The rationale for this is the 70 years rule. My question obviously is the identity of the photographer of Duchamp's work, as this is the only key to its being in the public domain or not.
Following the rationale of 70 years, it is impossible that the photo is by American photographer Alfred Stieglitz because Stieglitz died in 1946 which is not 70 years but only 64.
It is also possible to rule out the principle of freedom of panorama, because clearly there is no panorama.
