"Het hof van Saksen is een nieuwerwetsch gebouw van 1770 , gemaakt naar het plan van een kasteel dat in Saksen bestaat. Van daar de naam dien men het gegeven heeft. (1 ) Het kasteel werd uit dezen boek nageteekend door Mr Alexander de la Kethulle in 1809. Deze teekening berust in het Museum van den Oudheidskundigen Kring van het Land van Waas. The Waasland is a region in Flanders, Belgium, although without any administrative functions. It is also called the Land van Waas (Land of Waas), Waas refers to the soggy soil of the region.
It is part of the provinces of East Flanders and Antwerp. In the north, it borders with the Netherlands. The other borders of the Waasland are with the Scheldt and Durme rivers. The capital and major city of the region is Sint-Niklaas.
