Walter Heynowski (* 20. November 1927 in Ingolstadt) war gemeinsam mit Gerhard Scheumann einer der bekanntesten und bedeutendsten Dokumentarfilm-Regisseure der DDR. Daneben wirkte er auch als Texter, Szenarist, Drehbuchautor oder Produzent an zahlreichen Filmen mit.
