"En amour, il y en a toujours un qui souffre et l’autre qui s’ennuie" (In love, there is always one who suffers and another who is bored) is a dictum attributed to French writer Honoré de Balzac. As of 2015, this attribution proved to be spurious.
The dictum is reminiscent of "Les gens c'est pas difficile, soit on les aime trop, soit on ne les aime pas assez..." from Le Parfum d'Yvonne.
