The Infant Life (Preservation) Act 1929 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. The act states that it is an offence for "any person who, with intent to destroy the life of a child capable of being born alive, by any wilful act causes a child to die before it has an existence independent of its mother"- section 1(1).

The act introduced the offence of child destruction. This act also amended the law (Offences against the Person Act 1861) so that an abortion carried out in good faith, for the sole purpose of preserving the life of the mother, would not be a felony.
