Pierre-Alexandre Du Peyrou (7 Mai, 1729-13 Novembre, 1794) était un notable de Neuchâtel, à la tête d'une énorme fortune et un esprit indépendant qui se lia notamment avec Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
C'est lui qui, après la mort de l'écrivain, publia à Genève, en 1788, la première édition complète de ses œuvres. En 1790, il publia, encore à Neuchâtel, la deuxième partie des "Confessions".
